Prior to half-way through the program students must be provided with a progress report that must be kept in the student’s file. If a student alleges to have not received this report and you cannot provide proof, the student could request a full refund of fees paid.
Graduation requirements – Describe any additional requirements to graduate successfully from the program.
Online evaluations: The application will ask about evaluations for online programming to determine if there is a different style of evaluation for a student working online. For example, an in-person student may provide a presentation to demonstrate an understanding of the program content and an online student might submit a report.
Describe the policies to be followed for grade appeals process, failed subjects repeats, exam rewrite, etc:
Each student must maintain a 60% + average with to fulfil the requirements of the program.
Exams/quizzes and practical tests will be written on the scheduled date and time. Students who arrive late will not be given extra time to complete the evaluation. Students who are unable to write a scheduled evaluation due to medical or compassionate reasons must provide a physicians note or proper documentation. Students will obtain a zero if they do not have a doctors note on the evaluation in question.
Achieving a passing score on exams is a requirement of successful course completion. In the event that a student does not achieve a passing score on an exam, he or she may apply to his or her Instructor to re-write the exam. Re-write is available only in the event of an exam failure.
Permission to re-write an exam is not automatic. If permission to re-write is granted, the student may not re-write the exam until 24 hours have elapsed and no more than 5 school days from the time of first writing. Students who fail an examination will have the opportunity to re-write an exam. They will only be allowed to do one re-write, and must achieve a 60% to pass. Should the student fail the re-write then the failed subject must be repeated. It is a condition of approval that a student must be informed of the results of an evaluation of their progress in the program prior to half-way through each refund period or, in the case of non- continuous programs, half-way through the program. Outline how the evaluation system accomplishes this requirement:
During the course of the program each student is informed of their grades with a weekly progress report; which is signed by the student and retained in the file. Hence, the student has several opportunities up to and including the half-way refund period to assess their progress in the program. Describe any additional graduation requirements: Satisfactory passing grades in the examination along with successful clinical performance and the student's account must be in good standing.
